Born as Padmavati Apte, a science graduate & was educated in Mumbai and then was married to Late. Shrikrishna alias Rajabhau Gadgil in 1978.

Essentially a housewife, Smt. Padmini Gadgil was not much aware of and involved in the jewellery business. But thanks to the ongoing discussions at home and constant exposure to the various aspects of the business, she was acquainted with the business very well. Padmini tai says, ” My father in law used to inspect and select pearls at home. I learned watching him do so.” Gradually she started doing work such as sieving the pearls at home. She also started spending her free time at the showroom.

Late Shri. Shrikrishna Gadgil recognized the enterprising nature of his wife and encouraged her to do the course in Gemmology. Smt. Padmini Gadgil then completed the gemmology course from Mumbai and became a Certified Grader at the age of 45.

After the sudden demise of Shrikrishna Gadgil, Smt. Gadgil ( Wahini) took the reins of the business and expanded it successfully. With her commitment, insights and warmth, she formed enduring bonds with the customers and created a strong and loyal customer base for the brand.

Now both her sons, Akshay & Rohan Gadgil are into the business but still she is actively involved on full-time basis with a focus on customer satisfaction and diamond assessment.

Smt. Padmini Gadgil has deep insights into the business. She says that mostly people prefer the jewellery of nine gemstones while some people strategically invest in diamonds. Diamond is a good investment option since the prices of the diamonds are consistently rising every year, she informs.

She further adds, Quality is of utmost importance while purchasing diamonds and other precious stones. P. N. G. Brothers have its own laboratory in Pune and every gemstone and diamond is inspected and checked in special types of equipment imported from Germany. These equipment consist of microscope, spectroscope, refractometer ultraviolet laps, dichroscope and other machinery.

Brothers and his USP is Diamond assortment and Coloured stone grading.

Already familiar with the technicalities of diamond designing, Akshay mastered the business on the job. His vast experience in the diamond business gives him a deft insight into upcoming trends. He attributes the influx in the demand for diamonds on the customers preference for light and trendy diamond jewellery instead of ornate ones. This has further widened the scope of the diamond business.
